coldest place

is there a place in the Universe, which is colder than the CMB? (Planck's cryostats don't count as an answer)

for bonus points: which is the hottest place in the Universe?

1 comment:

  1. the hottest places would be supernova explosions or $\gamma$-ray bursts as element synthesis can take place in these events, but of course the notion of a temperature would imply that there needs to be thermodynamical equilibrium.
