  1. one recovers Boltzmann-statistics as the large-energy limit of the Planck-spectrum. using the thermal wavelength as a boundary between classical and quantum mechanical behaviour and integrating over the spectrum yields a fraction of roughly 60% of photons, whose statistics can be well approximated by the classical Boltzmann-distribution.
